SCC Successfully Executes Fire and Earthquake Drill
Southern Christian College (SCC) conducted a comprehensive fire and earthquake drill on March 11, 202, as part of its ongoing commitment to disaster preparedness and community safety. The primary aim of the drill was to enhance student awareness and ensure that all members of the SCC community are equipped with the necessary skills to act decisively in the event of an emergency.
The exercise successfully activated emergency alarms across the campus, prompting students, faculty, and staff to immediately implement safety protocols and assemble at the designated evacuation areas.
At the core of the drill was the rigorous execution of the earthquake survival standard: Duck, Cover, and Hold On. Students were tested on their ability to transition instantly from their daily routine to this protective posture, validating their readiness to minimize injury during ground shaking.
The shool administration stressed the paramount importance of preparedness, emphasizing that the swift and accurate execution of safety protocols is critical for minimizing risks and protecting lives during actual disasters.
By regularly conducting these simulations, SCC reinforces the safety culture needed to ensure minimal chaos and maximum protection for all individuals on campus when faced with a real-world emergency. The successful outcome of the drill confirms the institution’s readiness to respond to potential hazards.
