SCC SEAFS’  Derequito Hailed as 2025 Provincial Outstanding Organic Farmer for Crop Production

The Sustainable Ecological  Agriculture and Food Security (SEAFS) Program Head, Ms. Analyn V. Derequito,  continues to blaze a trail in sustainable agriculture, having been named the Outstanding Organic Farmer for Crop Production at the 2025 Provincial Organic Agriculture Achievers Awards. Ms. Derequito, along with other remarkable farmers, was recognized during the 3rd Provincial Organic Agriculture Congress, in celebration of the 11th National Organic Agriculture Month on November 5, 2025 at The Basket, Capitol Compound, Amas, Kidapawan City.

This latest accolade underscores Derequito’s dedication to advancing organic farming practices and her pivotal role in promoting environmental stewardship within the province.

Derequito was celebrated not just as a grower but as a guardian of the province’s food security. Her strict adherence to chemical-free protocols ensures that every harvest protects the consumer from toxins and the land from degradation, embodying the uncompromising standard of true organic stewardship. Her success serves as a model for regenerative farming, demonstrating that ecological balance and agricultural productivity can go hand in hand.

The SCC-SEAFS Program celebrates this milestone not just as a personal victory for Derequito but as a win for the entire movement. Her leadership has created a powerful ripple effect across the sector, demonstrating to local farmers that ecological balance is not just an environmental ideal but a viable and profitable path forward.

By championing chemical-free production, Derequito is not only feeding the community but is also “sowing the seeds of change” for a healthier and more sustainable future for the province of Cotabato.
