Ms. Derequito Named Outstanding Farmer Agripreneur at Gawad Saka 2025

Southern Christian College (SCC) celebrates another major milestone in the field of agriculture as Ms. Analyn V. Derequito was officially recognized as the Gawad Saka 2025 Awardee for Outstanding Farmer Agripreneur.

The prestigious distinction was conferred by the Provincial Government of Cotabato on October 15, 2025, acknowledging Derequito’s exceptional contributions to agricultural development and entrepreneurship within the province. Derequito secured the win at the Farm Family Congress 2025. The award was presented at the provincial capitol in Amas, solidifying her status as a leader among Cotabato’s farming families.

Derequito’s selection signals a shift in the provincial narrative: the rise of the ‘Farmer-CEO.’ The award recognizes her ability to transform traditional cultivation into a profitable business model, demonstrating that ecological sustainability and economic success are not mutually exclusive, but are the twin engines of modern agriculture.

The SCC community celebrates this milestone with Ms. Derequito. Her victory is more than just a personal win; it is a well-earned recognition of the grit and innovation required to succeed in modern agriculture. Her victory stands as a testament to the quality of agricultural leadership emerging from the SCC community.
