John Lloyd Antipolo Wins Provincial Young Farmers Challenge with “SoilSaver Frass”
Southern Christian College (SCC) is proud to announce that alumnus and faculty Mr. John Lloyd A. Antipolo has emerged as one of the provincial winners in the highly competitive 2025 Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) – Start-Up Provincial Level Business Pitching Competition. The competition took place from October 2 to 7, 2025, in Koronadal City.
Rooted in his extensive research on the Black Soldier Fly, Mr. Antipolo developed ‘SoilSaver Frass’ as a sustainable answer to rising fertilizer costs. His pitch demonstrated how converting organic insect residue into high-quality soil conditioner can provide local farmers with an affordable, nutrient-rich alternative to synthetic inputs.
His successful business pitch earned him a coveted spot to secure funding for the implementation of his proposed enterprise and, more significantly, advance to the Regional Level Competition.
The achievement of winning at the Provincial Level means Mr. Antipolo will now proudly represent Cotabato Province in the next stage of the Young Farmers Challenge. His enterprise highlights the potential of sustainable, low-cost inputs in boosting local agriculture and represents SCC’s commitment to innovation in the agricultural sector.
The SCC community extends its full support to Mr. Antipolo as he prepares for the regional stage of the competition, carrying the banner of entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
