Business Congress Ignites Entrepreneurial Spirit at SCC
The College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) at Southern Christian College (SCC) successfully hosted its inaugural Business Congress on December 9 to 10, 2024 at the SCC Fellowship Center.
The two-day event was designed to inspire and equip CBA students for the challenges and opportunities of modern business and entrepreneurship.
The congress featured two highly respected resource speakers, Ms. Karen Toledo, a retired banker and the manager of Jaum Farm, and Ms. Bai Zarah Joy M. Manamba, who shared their expertise and motivated the young attendees. Through their insightful lectures and inspiring messages, both speakers emphasized a central theme for the future of business: “Integration is the key to sustainability.” The speakers challenged students to dismantle the traditional profit-first mindset. They urged the next generation of CEOs to view social responsibility not as an act of charity, but as a core engine of business growth—where community impact and financial success are inseparable.
The inaugural Business Congress serves as a foundational initiative by the CBA to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world industry perspectives. By inviting seasoned professionals and focusing on themes like sustainability and community impact, Southern Christian College is preparing its students to become not just business owners, but responsible and ethically-minded leaders in the SOCCSKSARGEN region and beyond.
