CSG Officers Fortify Governance Standards through LEAP Launchpad Workshop
The College Supreme Government (CSG) Officers of Southern Christian College (SCC) recently boosted their governance capabilities by participating in an essential Seminar-Workshop on Parliamentary Rules and Procedures on January 17, 2025.
Held at Audio Visual Center 1, the enlightening session aimed to equip student-leaders with the knowledge necessary for running organized and effective meetings—a core requirement for ethical governance.
The seminar was expertly led by Rev. Wilson James R. Limos, MLIS, the current Director of Student Affairs and Services. As the head of the office spearheading the LEAP initiative, Rev. Limos guided the officers on how to professionalize CSG operations.
This training was a key component of the Student Affairs Office’s Leading with Ethics, Accountability and Purpose (LEAP) Launchpad. This flagship program is designed to produce globally competitive leaders capable of navigating complex socio-technical challenges while serving as instruments of social transformation.
The workshop operationalized the LEAP framework, translating abstract values into concrete governance tools. Officers learned that Ethics requires respectful debate, Accountability demands transparent decision-making, and Purpose is achieved only when meetings move efficiently from discussion to action. This alignment ensures that every parliamentary motion serves the broader mission of social transformation.
By strengthening their grasp of parliamentary rules, the CSG Council reaffirms its commitment to the LEAP ideals. This training ensures that as representatives of the student body, they can facilitate transparent and orderly proceedings, fulfilling their role as agents of positive social change within the campus.
The officers collectively affirmed their resolve to uphold the values of excellence and service, ensuring the efficient operation of the student government throughout the academic year.
