Answering the Call of KLIMA, NSTP Class Greens Barangay Sinapangan
The rugged terrain leading to Barangay Sinapangan, a rural community in the Municipality of Libungan, was transformed into a path of purpose on May 3, 2025. Students of the National Service Training Program-Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP–CWTS) Class Patience carried out a community-based environmental initiative there in support of the KLIMA Movement (Kalikasan Laging Alagaan, Iisang Mundo, Mahalagang Pananagutan), translating their civic training into concrete ecological action.
While the trek to the site was challenging, the effort was deemed worthwhile as students planted the seeds for a sustainable future. This activity was more than a requirement; it was a direct response to the KLIMA call for collective responsibility in protecting the environment.
The drive flourished through community partnership, a pillar of the KLIMA framework. The Department of Agriculture ensured the biological sustainability of the project by providing suitable seedlings, while the Barangay Sinapangan Council provided vital logistical support.
Under the mentorship of their class adviser, Mr. Rodhel Mapada, the class transformed a muddy hillside into a classroom of stewardship. They proved that the KLIMA mandate is not just a slogan, but a call to physical action. These students left behind more than just saplings; they planted a living legacy of youth leadership that will protect Barangay Sinapangan for generations to come.
