In a grand gathering that drew together community pillars and luminaries, Southern Christian College (SCC) kicked off its Diamond Jubilee celebration on May 3, 2024, marking 75 years of excellence in learning and service with the theme “75 Years of Leading the Way: Celebrating Successes, Envisioning the Future.”
The event was graced by keynote speaker Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao, the renowned world boxing champion and former Philippine Senator, whose presence electrified the assembly of friends, partners, alumni, stakeholders, and the SCC community.
Pacquiao, known for his rags-to-riches story and philanthropic efforts, delivered a stirring speech that resonated deeply with the audience. “We are champions of change… We are ambassadors of collaboration… We are pioneers of sustainable innovations…” he stated, aligning his message with the values that SCC holds dear as it looks toward the future. His words not only reflected his own life’s journey but also underscored the potential paths that SCC could navigate in the years to come.
The highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of the “Centennial Roadmap,” a strategic plan branded with the acronym RISEN (Reset, Intensify, Soar, Excel, Nurture). This roadmap outlines the college’s ambitious vision for the next quarter-century, aiming to fortify its legacy as a premier Christian education institution.
The jubilee year launch not only celebrated SCC’s historic past but also set a dynamic course for its future, ensuring that the institution remains a beacon of learning and service in the region.
The event concluded with festive music and fireworks display, as the SCC community, buoyed by Pacquiao’s inspiring words and the new roadmap, looked ahead to a future filled with promise and enduring success.
