Opening Program of 6th Summit on Sustainable Ecological Agriculture & World Food Day Celebration

Guest Speaker: Hon. Cynthia Villar

The 6th Summit for Sustainable Ecological Agriculture (SEA) and World Food Day Celebration officially commenced on October 16, 2018. Present in the opening program were Dr. Edwin T. Balaki, SCC President, Dr. Luz Taposok of the Agriculture Training Institute (ATI), Mr. Arthur Go, the Chief-of-staff of Sen. Cynthia Villar. Municipal mayors of the PALMA+PB Alliance and the Vice Governor of the Cotabato province, Hon. Shirlyn M. Villanueva graced the big event.

The highlight of the summit is the participation of the PALMA+PB alliance farmers, agriculturists and organic farming practitioners. Series of lectures were given to the participants and a press conference in the SCC Executive board room also happened where the media partners and outlets were able to ask questions about Agriculture and organic farming.

The opening celebration was festive and successful and there’s more that the participants must expect for the second and the third day of the summit as the organizing agencies and LGUs (SCC, Department of Agriculture, PALMA+PB Alliance, and Sustainable Ecological Agriculture (SEA)) prepared much for the joint event.
