Southern Christian College celebrated on August 11, 2022 the 10th anniversary and the beginning of the new term of the President, Dr. Edwin T. Balaki. Dr. Balaki delivered his State of the College Address.
He recognized all the accomplishments done through the ministries under his leadership. The event served as a symbolic celebration of Dr. Balakiโs decade-long service to SCC. The grand opening salvo featured all the annual songs of SCC for the past 10 years.
Dr. Balaki received gifts and messages from the students, faculty and staff, alumni, friends and partners, and from people who dear to him.
With a cultural and tribal-inspired motif, the SCC faculty and staff showcased their creativity in the headdresses that they wore to complement the new uniform of SCC accented with modified Inaul fabric woven by a local group of women in Midsayap. The top 10 best headdresses were awarded. Other activities were also enjoyed by the attendees such as the Kahoot quiz.
The Talosig siblings, John Alexander Michael and Jie Angela Mikaela, were also recognized during the event for the honor they brought to SCC as they bagged gold and silver medals in the National Swimming competition. They, together with their coach Sir Ibin Nezzer Busig, received cash incentives from the school.
