Southern Christian College joined in the celebration the International Womenโs Month, today, March 8, 2023, at the SCC Peace Park.
Part of the celebration is remembering the women in the bible where the members of the Gender and Development Technical Working Group presented some of the most influential and empowered women in the bible.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Neyrma N. Cabatac, turned over the sewing machine to the representative of the Indigenous People Women of Upper Bulanan. The sewing machine was donated by Dr. Elma Neyra, Vice President for Research and Extension, as her expression of love to the women of Upper Bulanan.
The gold medalists of the SBE COPRISA were also recognized during the program and were given cash incentives.
One of the highlights of the opening program is the spoken word poetry with entries from different departments from High School to College. Several students also won prizes in the trivia quiz about women.
The event was participated by SCC administrators, deans, unit heads, faculty, staff, and students from all levels.
It concluded with the One Billion Rising community dance.
More activities related to womenโs month celebration will be conducted this March.
