Southern Christian College faculty and staff participated in a retreat program at the Fellowship Center on August 11, 2023, with the theme “Use me, Lord, for your Ministry.”
The “Faculty and Staff Retreat 2023” centered its liturgy with the passage reading from Colossians 3: 23-24, emphasizing that the Lord Christ is to whom our work and services are offered.
The participants shared their commitment to themselves, SCC, and God during the occasion. Within their groups, the participants visualized through drawing or sketching their work as if it was offered to God, reflected upon themselves that their work is aligned and committed to Christ, and wrote specific tasks that demonstrated wholehearted service to earthly tasks and the Lord.
Altogether, the participants formed a web through a yarn passed from one person to another, symbolizing their established connections and relationships with one another.
The faculty of the College of Theology facilitated the retreat program and concluded with all the participants singing the song “Use Me Lord” with its closing lyrics, “Take my life and use me, Lord.”
