The Fellowship Center felt like a Barbie World earlier today, August 25, as the faculty, staff, and college freshmen of Southern Cristian College dazzled in their Barbie and Ken outfits in celebration of the 11th Presidentโs Day, College President Dr. Edwin T. Balakiโs 2nd year within his third term in office, with the theme โUse Me, Lord, for Your Ministry.โ
Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Neyrma N. Cabatac applauded in her opening speech Dr. Balakiโs leadership with a vision that extends beyond the horizon, as well as the Presidentโs unyielding commitment to the advancement of knowledge, the betterment of the learning environment, the pursuit of intellectual curiosity, strengthening of community engagement, steadfast support to the welfare of the employees of SCC.
She added that the designation of Dr. Balaki was not only the product of meticulous deliberation but also a Divine assignment and that this yearโs occasion is a celebration of a calling that has been embraced, a duty that has been fulfilled, and a future that has been envisioned.
In his inaugural speech, Dr. Balaki presented the manifestations of the SCC ministry with the different heads of the institutionโs sectors delivering the accomplishments. Meanwhile, the VPAA envisioned the future plans for Southern Christian College within the current term of the college President.
Dr. Balaki, in his response to the administrationโs services and its manifestation of greatness, commended the employees of Southern Christian College, saying, โThank you for a job well doneโฆ You are so great.โ
He also noted that the ministries and blessings that come one after the other were the manifestations of the administrationโs investment in serving God truthfully and honestly. The college president also urged everybody to be in unity.
