COPRISA2015‬ KICKS OFF AT SCC

MIDSAYAP, COTABATO–After much anticipation and months of preparation, the 2015 Cotabato Private Schools (COPRISA) intercollegiate meet will finally start today, December 2 here at Southern Christian College.

Some 600 athletes, coaches, school official from nine private institutions in the province of Cotabato are set compete in various events to be held in SCC and other venues within the Midsayap and Libungan area. In a statement, SCC President Dr Edwin T. Balaki said, this is history in the making since this is the first time that SCC has been given the full responsibility as lead host of the provincial games.

While some of the sporting venues are located outside the SCC campus, majority of the indoor games and the billeting quarters for the athletes and coaches are locate inside the campus.

It was really a big challenge to host such event but SCC Director for Student Affairs expresses gratefulness to the whole academic community of SCC for the support and teamwork being demonstrated to serve the best experience for the participating schools.

At 2:30 p.m. today, the parade will start from SCC up to the NDMC area and back. This will be followed by the opening ceremony at the Solidarity Center where Midsayap town vice mayor Luis Garduque and SCC President Dr Balaki are expected to welcome the different delegations. COPRISA and Southern Baptist College president Prof Alvin Lynn Bergante will also be present to formally open the games.

Some 100 performers are set to stage a simple but meaningful presentation in the opening ceremony. This will be followed by the opening of the grand christmas lights display in front of the administration building.

The participating schools are:

1. Cotabato Medical Foundation College Inc.
2. I Link College of Science and Technology
3. Southern Baptist College
4. Notre Dame of Midsayap College
5. Kidapawan Doctors College Inc.
6. Notre Dame of Kidapawan College
7. Colegio de Kidapawan
8. Central Mindanao Colleges
9. Southern Christian College (host)
